Women fall in overtime

Box Score ATHENS, Tenn. - Time was not on the side of the Bluefield College women's basketball team Wednesday night as the Rams dropped a 70-61 game in overtime to the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs.
Bluefield lead early, 17-10 after the first quarter and 29-22 at halftime before a second half surge by the homestanding Bulldogs saw the game tied at 58 at the end of regulation. TWU out-scored the Rams 12-3 in the extra period to gain the win.
Courtney Kendrick collected a double-double, leading Bluefield with 13 points and 12 rebounds.  She also had four blocks and two assists. Danae Cox was the only other Ram in double figure scoring with 11 points. Whitney Smith pulled down seven rebounds to go with her seven points.
TWU got 14 points from Savannah Atkins, 13 from Summer Morris, 12 from Hunter Simpsona nd 10 from Kenzie Conn. Simpson and Madison Walkup had 11 rebounds apiece.
The Rams dropped to 10-8 overall and 6-5 in conference play. BC will host Point, Saturday at 2 p.m.
