GRAYSON, Ky. - Bluefield College Women's soccer traveled to Kentucky Christian University, Tuesday and picked up a 6-0 victory against the Knights, making the Rams 4-4 on the season.
The Rams were quick to test, keeper, Mckenzzie Via off a corner in the first 2 minutes, who blocked a shot taken by Jacqueline Chick and then saved Whitney Browning's shot.
Bluefield's Whitney Browning picked up her first hat trick of the season. Her first goal came in the 10th minute by catching freshman Mattison Stoke's ball over top of the defenders and beating the keeper on the back post.
In the 19th minute, Bluefield was awarded a free-kick 30 yards out from the goal. Senior, Adriana Moreno, floated the ball over the fingertips of KCU's keeper. Shortly after, the Rams pushed forward and Amanda Brown's goal kick to found Brownings feet, beating three defenders and the goalie to make it 3-0 at the half.
In the 56th minute of the second half, Browning followed up after a shot ricocheted off the keeper's hands and placed it in the net. Six minutes later, Moreno found the ball in the center and played a one touch flick to Alvalous Barbour sending her on a 1v1 to goal and sliding it in the right side netting.
Stokes finished off the game in the 88th minute by scoring in the upper left corner off an assist from Barbour. This makes keeper Amanda Brown's third shutout of the season.
The Rams return to the pitch for a doubleheader at home this Saturday the 24th against Point University. The Lady Rams kick off at 1pm, and the men are scheduled at 3:30pm.
