Box Score BLUEFIELD - Whitney Browning scored a goal, but it was not enough as the Bluefield College women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision to the University of Cumberlands Patriots at the East River Soccer Complex.
Cumberlands took the lead in the third minute and added a goal in the 25th minute to carry a 2-nil lead into the intermission. Bluefield quickly scored after the break, Browning finding the net in the 47th minute on an assist from Emma Donohoe. Patriot goals in the 55th and 72nd minutes allowed for the final margin of victory.
Bluefield now stands at 3-3 on the season and opens Appalachian Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon at 5:00 when the Bryan Lions visit.
