MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Errors spelled doom for the Bluefield College baseball team Saturday night as the Rams committed seven miscues and fell to the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) Red Storm 18-7 at Moor Park.

Rio scored three unearned runs in the first and fifth innings off Rams starter Thomas Huddleston who suffered the loss. BC's Ryan Lawson was 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles. Erik Williams hit a pair of two-run home runs, and Dallas Bacon was 2-for-4 with a double.

Kirby Yates and Dylan Shockley each homered for Rio Grande as part of the Red Storm's 17-hit attack. Daryin Lewis picked up the win as he worked six innings of six-hit, four-run ball.

The two teams wrap up their three-game series Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
