Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. - After falling Saturday at Union, the Bluefield College women's basketball team got back on track Wednesday night with a 60-42 win over Tennessee Wesleyan at the Dome Gymnasium.
Bluefield took command from the outset and raced to a 15-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. The teams played even in the second period as each scored 16 points and BC carried a 31-25 lead into the intermission. The Rams took total command in the last two quarters and built a lead as high as 21 midway through the fourth stanza before the final horn sounded and the margin of victory stood at 18 points. The win avenged an earlier loss at Tennessee Wesleyan where the Bulldogs claimed a late two-point victory.
Monique Robson led the Rams with 12 points and seven rebounds along with a pair of assists and steals. Deneysha goods finished with nine points and a pair of assists, while
Kierra Bell-Linnear scored seven points.
Sarah McKinnon topped the TWC scoring column with 12 points and Jara Gasper closely followed with 11.
The Rams, who moved to 9-7 overall and 5-5 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, shot 43 percent from the floor in the game while holding TWC to 37 percent shooting. Tennessee Wesleyan fell to 6-6 overall and 6-4 in the AAC.
Bluefield takes to the road Saturday to face Point.
