BLUEFIELD, W. Va. – After playing a scoreless first half, the Bluefield College Women's Soccer team scored three second half goals and blanked Toccoa Falls College (Ga.) 3-nil, Saturday night at the East River Soccer Complex in their season opener.
Whitney Browning got the season's first goal unassisted in the 48th minute. Victoria Doyle scored the second goal with an assist from Jessica Newman in the 54th minute. The final score in the 61st minute by Newman came off a corner kick and rounded out the scoring.
The Rams out-shot the visiting Screaming Eagles 21-3. Amanda Brown started in goal and was relieved by Brandi Anderson, each had a save. Toccoa Falls' Emily Truelove had 11 saves.
The Rams return to the pitch Friday night at Ohio Christian.
