Box Score CLEVELAND, Ga. -- A 20-2 run in the first half from the Bluefield College women's basketball team keyed a 62-55 Appalachian Athletic Conference road win over Truett-McConnell College on Wednesday evening.
Bluefield moves to 12-15 on the season with the victory, and 8-10 in AAC matchups as conference play begins to wind down and the playoff picture begins to take shape. First year head coach
Corey Mullins' squad currently sits seventh in the standings. Truett-McConnell dropped its fourth-straight contest, falling to 6-18 overall and 2-15 in league play.
The hosting Bears took a 7-0 lead out of the gates, but Bluefield found its offense to the tune of a 20-2 run and held a 30-20 lead at halftime.

Abigayle Peck helped guide the momentum-shifting rally, scoring all of their respective 10 and six points on the night in the first half.
Bluefield maintained its lead throughout the second half, with Truett-McConnell making one final push for the 62-55 final.
Jade McDaniel closed the night as the team's leading scorer, pouring in 17 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the field--including a 5-for-9 effort from beyond-the-arc.Â
Maryah Mazyck added 14 points. Though the senior went 4-for-10 from the floor, she knocked down all six of her attempts at the free-throw line, helping Bluefield to a 9-for-11 night at the stripe.
Key's 10 points rounded out double-digit scorers for Bluefield.
Whitney Smith recorded her second-straight nine-rebound game, leading BC's effort on the glass. Truett-McConnell held the slim 33-31 edge on the glass, much thanks to 11 offensive rebounds.
Bluefield closed the night hitting 22-of-55 (40%) attempts, while holding the Bears to 19-for-52 (36%) shooting from the floor. BC matched its season high by connecting on nine triples. TMC was just 3-for-15 from distance.
Rhande Haskett paced Truett-McConnell with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Anna Murr added 13 points.
Bluefield hits the road again on Saturday, traveling to take on the league's No. 2 team, Union College. The Bulldogs are currently ranked 23rd in the NAIA DII, and defeated St. Andrews 80-51 on Wednesday evening.
