LAURINBURG, N.C. - Despite a valiant charge at the conclusion of the match, the Bluefield College women's soccer team dropped a 2-nil decision Tuesday afternoon to the St. Andrews University Knights in an Appalachian Athletic Conference game.
Down 1-0 the Rams charged but the Knights scored with 10 seconds remaining for the 2-0 win.
"We played better in the second half, some of the best soccer we've played all year," said BC head coach
Tom Price. "We did some very nice things."
Bluefield had six of its 10 shots in the second half and goalkeeper
Brandi Anderson had six saves. The Rams now stand at 3-4-3 overall and 1-2-2 in the ACC. St. Andrews moved to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
The Rams return to action Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Milligan in an AAC match.
