EVENSVILLE, Tenn. – Whitney Browning scored in the 19th minute and Brandi Anderson had six saves in goal as the Bluefield College women's team tied Bryan College 1-1 Saturday afternoon in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match. The game was played at Rhea County High School instead of on the Bryan campus due to recent inclement weather which was prevalent throughout the game.
Browning scored in her third straight game. It came on an assist from Megan Norton.
Bryan's lone goal came in the 66th minute when Alex Kuh found the net on an assist from Hana Mizoguchi.
BC out-shot Bryan 14-10 and its record now stands at 3-3-3 overall and 1-1-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference games.
"After the first four games, sitting on five points is a huge accomplishment," said Rams head coach Tom Price. "To get points on the road is a huge step and I'm excited about the direction the program is headed."
The Rams return to the pitch Wednesday at St. Andrews in an AAC game.
