Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. -- Men's volleyball made a strong debut at the Dome Gymnasium on Friday evening, but Bluefield fell in five sets to the visiting Cincinnati Christian University Eagles, 18-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-20, 10-15.
Bluefield drops to 0-4 in its inaugural season, while the Eagles knotted their first win of their second season as a program, moving to 1-2.
Daniel Williams paced the Rams with 10 kills on the evening, being set up by his brother
Isaiah Williams who logged 24 assists.
Matt Epperson logged nine kills while
Chase Craycraft added five more for Bluefield.
Patrick Hilton led BC with six digs, while
Daniel Williams also had  pair of solo blocks. Craycraft also logged four block assists.
CCU was led by Phillip Andrews and Lance Wiles' 12 kills, while Logan Webber added 11 more. Wesley Brown had 24 assists to match
Isaiah Williams. Webber led the Eagles with nine digs, while also adding a pair of solo blocks.
After CCU grabbed a 1-0 lead, The Rams charged back in the second set en route to its first-ever set win as a program. The Rams hit at a whopping .571 percentage in the second set, putting down 15 kills to just three errors. Bluefield took the first four points thanks to Eagle miscues and were able to use the quick start to its advantage.
CCU pulled within one at 7-6, but the Rams reeled off a 6-1 rally to boost the lead to to 13-7. Kills from
Connor Holland, Craycraft, Epperson, as well as two from
David Gianesin fuled the rally. The Eagles once again closed the deficit to one point, 14-13, but BC responded with back-to-back points, being an Epperson kill and a CCU error.The Rams held down the stretch and an Epperson kill notched the match 1-1.

The Eagles found all the cushion they needed and went on to the 25-20 victory. CCU registered 15 kills in the set, its high on the night.
BC clamored back in the fourth to square the match with a 25-20 win of its own. A kill from
Daniel Williams settled the score at 2-2, as the Rams closed down the stretch after facing an 18-all tie.
The teams went back and forth in the deciding set, but this time, a late run from the visitors created separation and sealed the victory for the Eagles.
The Rams return to action at the Dome on Saturday, hosting a tri-match with CCU as well as North Greenville University. BC and Cincinnati Christian kick things off at 10 a.m., while the Eagles and Crusaders meet at noon. The Rams finish off the day by facing North Greenville at 2 p.m.
