Olivia Williams scored the second goal of her career, Wednesday, but the Bluefield College women's soccer team was edged in yet another one-goal game as hosting Union College earned the 2-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference win at Williamson Stadium.

Bluefield falls to 0-7-1 with its fourth one-goal defeat of the season, while Union improves to 5-4.

The teams played to a scoreless first half with Union holding the 9-4 edge in shots.

The first score came just after the break, as Helen Weber earned the hosts a 1-0 advantage in the 47
th minute. Aline Dalmedico provided the assist from the right side of the box.

Williams squared the match in the 63
rd minute, scoring the equalizer off a corner kick from
Lyndsey Pelletteri.

But, Union's response came 15 minutes later as Weber struck again, this time with Union converting on its set play from a corner kick. Payten Walters provided the assist on what turned out to be the game-winning goal.

Bluefield's offense picked up in the second half, as the Lady Rams fired 14 shots over the final 45 minutes to total a season-high 18 shots for the contest. Union had 12 shots in the second half, finishing with 21 for the game. Both teams had 11 shots on goal, also a season high for Bluefield.

Amanda Brown had nine saves on the evening in the loss, while Union's Kendall Ellington logged 10 saves, nine of which came in the second half.

Bluefield held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks, while Union was called for 13 fouls to 11 for BC.

The Lady Rams are slated to host Milligan College at 7 p.m., Friday, at East River Soccer Complex.
