The Bluefield College men's tennis team defeated visiting Ferrum College, Friday afternoon, by a score of 5-4. The match was the Rams' sixth match in the week, while they conclude a busy stretch on Sunday by hosting Randolph College at 1 p.m. at the Bluefield City Courts.

Despite being a player down, the Rams earned victories in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to grab an early 2-1 advantage over the Panthers. Lochlan Kitchen and Matt Moore teamed up for the lead victory, knocking off Christopher Miller and Taylor Napier. At No. 2, Ben Rosado and Chaz Stonestreet pulled out an 8-6 win over Michael Marsh and Tyler Lee.

In singles, Bluefield carried its momentum for a trio of victories.

At No. 1, Kitchen earned a 6-0, 6-4 win over Miller, while Stonestreet took a three-set match over Marsh, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, for his third win of the week.

The No. 3 match went to the visitors, with Napier defeating Moore, 6-2, 6-1. James Gunn stepped up in the No. 4 slot, sweeping William Sharp, 6-0, 6-0.

Lee claimed the No. 5 match win for Ferrum over Rosado, 6-1, 6-3 and Ferrum also claimed the No. 6 match by default.
