CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2023 Men's Tennis All-AAC Team and Awards on Thursday.
Bluefield University's Michael Gutu was named to the All-Conference First Team, Alessandro Perez to the All-Freshmen Team, and Juan Agudelo was named to the Champions of Character Team and All-Academic Team.
Oscar Gabriel Ortiz of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Player of the Year, Sabi Roi of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Freshman of the Year, and Francisco Gallardo of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Coach of the Year.
The awards were voted on and selected by the men's tennis coaches of the AAC.
Ten players earned a spot on the All-AAC First Team with five making the second team. There are six members of the All-Freshmen. Dozens of players made the grade to earn a spot on the All-Academic Team, while 10 were named to the Champions of Character Team.
