Bluefield College guard Danae Cox has been named to the Appalachian Athletic Conference basketball first team.
Cox, a sophomore guard from Richmond, Va., led the Rams in scoring this season, averaging 11.7 points per contest. She was deadly from behind the three point line this year as she made 39 percent of her shots from behind the arc (101-of-206).
Milligan College and Reinhardt University shared the AAC regular-season championship. Milligan's Sarah Robinson is the Player of the Year and also the Defensive Player of the Year. Rebecca Cheeks of Reinhardt is the Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year is Reinhardt's Lindsey Huffman.
Joining Cox on the first team is Kamaya Thomas (Allen), Amber Levi (Bryan), Sarah Robinson (Milligan), Hayley Wyrick (Milligan), Candace Rhodes (Point), Rebecca Cheeks (Reinhardt), Hunter Simpson (Tennessee Wesleyan), Ariana anders (Truett McConnell) and Maci Spence (Union).
Bluefield sophomore Courtney Kendrick, was named to the second team.  Kendrick from Charleston, W.Va., averaged 10 points and 6.2 rebounds this past season. Joining her on the second team are Dekoya Mack (Allen), Megan Billingsby (Bryan), Lindsee Price (Milligan), Raven Brown (Point), Alexia Manning (Point), Bria White (Reinhardt), Erika Woodfin (Reinhardt), LeeAysia Williamson (St. Andrews) and Madison Walkup (Tennessee Wesleyan).
The All-Freshman team consists of Rebecca Cheeks (Reinhardt), Victoria Washington (St. Andrews), LeeAysia Williamson (St. Andrews), Savannah Atkins (Tennessee Wesleyan), Quinlan Hughes (Truett McConnell), Janae' Simpson (Truett McConnell) and Brianna Alder (Union).
The All-Defensive Team is made up of Kelly Barnett (Milligan), Sarah Robinson (Milligan), Rebecca Cheeks (Reinhardt), Jaleya Mosley (Reinhardt), Payton Smith (Reinhardt) and Nannilena White (Union).
Bluefield's Hannah Preservati, a junior from Princeton, W.Va., was named to the Champions of Character Team.
Academic All-Conference honors were afforded to the Rams' Kierra Bell-Linnear, Danae Cox, Deneysha Goods, Emily Hart, Brittni Holman, Shekinah Huggins, Tyra Jackson, Courtney Kendrick, Valerie Lebedeva, Hannah Preservati and Haley Turman.
