Bluefield College forward Cordaris Townes has been named first team Appalachian Athletic Conference.
Townes, a senior from Danille, Va., leads the Rams in scoring, averaging 16.3 points a game. He pulls down 9.3 rebounds a game and had 76 blocks this season to rank him third in NAIA Division II. Townes was also named to the All-Defensive Team.
Also named to the first team was Brandon Moore (Allen), Oteriah Lee (Bryan), Alonzo Mobley (Montreat), Justin Bridges (Reinhardt), Connor Zinaich (St. Andrews), Tre Tiller (Tennessee Wesleyan), and Gerard Newby (Union), Tyrone Sherman (Union) and Paul Stone (Union).
Union was the regular-season champion in the AAC and Newby, a senior from Lexington, Ky., was named Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Zinaich was named Freshman of the Year and Union's Kevin Burton was Coach of the Year.
The second team consists of Ivory Drummer (Allen), Jacob Cawood (Milligan), Tyler Nichols (Milligan), David Everage (Montreat), Samuel Bunkley (Reinhardt), Nehemiah Jones (Reinhardt), Titus Gary (St. Andrews), Lee Vanderhorst (St. Andrews), David Campbell (Truett McConnell), and Mike Martin (Union).
The All-Freshman Team is made up of Brandon Moore (Allen), Daxton Bostian (Milligan), Bo Pless (Milligan), Terrell Sheffey (Montreat), Connor Zinaich (St. Andrews), Kobe Foster (Tennessee Wesleyan) and Kai Lambert (Truett McConnell).
Joining Townes on the All-Defensive Team are Alonzo Mobley (Montreat), Dwight Sanders (Reinhardt), Gerrard Newby (Union) and Tyrone Sherman (Union).
Bluefield's Olatunji Ebifemi, Khadier Fulcher and Gage Yesbeck were named to the All-Academic Team.
