2013 (So.): Played in all 11 games for the Rams … led the team with two fumble recoveries, returning them for a total of nine yards … ranked eighth on the team with 41 total tackles, 33 of which were solo … had a pair of tackles for loss, totaling four yards.
 
2012 (Fr.): Played in eight games for the Rams, mainly playing defense … made 21 tackles, 14 being solo … made two tackles for loss, including a one-yard sack at Belhaven (Oct. 13) … season high six tackles came at Cumberland (Nov. 3) … also returned two punts for a total of 37 yards … longest return of 36 yards came against Pikeville (Aug. 25).
 
Newton Conover High School: 2009 graduate for the Red Devils, lettering one year … played multiple roles, including CB, WR and KR … helped team earn AA State title in 2008 … returned INT 65 yards, along with 96 and 97-yard kickoff returns for TDs … made 53 tackles, five interceptions and forced three fumbles.
 
Personal: Son of Alphie Corpening … birthday is Feb. 1 … attended Western Carolina University in 2010-11 and was a member of footballs’ defensive scout team.
