BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Bluefield University men's volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Reinhardt Friday afternoon inside the Dome, falling 25-19, 25-19, 25-21.
Bluefield finished with 38 kills and hit .286 as a team, including a strong .444 mark in the third set as the Rams looked to extend the match. Despite the late push, Reinhardt maintained control throughout, hitting an efficient .409 for the contest.
Kari Williams led the BU offense with 15 kills on a .400 hitting percentage, while Mason Lloyd added 12 kills and eight digs. Mamadou Dieng provided efficiency in the middle with five kills on a .400 clip, and Richard Cisneros chipped in three kills.
Setter Benedict Somes guided the offense with 23 assists, while Nate Gooden added 11 assists in relief as the Rams totaled 38 assists on their 38 kills.
Defensively, Bluefield recorded 26 digs, with Lloyd leading the way with eight. Cesar Bitanga added six digs, while Zach Malavite and Imanol Catalan each contributed four.
BU returns to action Saturday for Senior Day inside the Dome, hosting Life University at 11 a.m. and Truett McConnell at 5 p.m.
