Bluefield Finishes Second at Wildcat Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Bluefield University men's golf team placed second at the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Johnson & Wales (Charlotte) at Maple Chase Golf & Country Club on March 9–10.

The Rams posted rounds of 318 and 319 for a two-day total of 637.

Freshman Jack Healy led the way for Bluefield, tying for third place individually after shooting 78 in both rounds to finish at 12-over-par. Healy recorded four birdies during the opening round and highlighted his final round with an eagle on the par-5 18th hole to secure the third-place finish.

Eetu Kilpinen followed with a fifth-place showing after carding rounds of 75 and 82 to finish the event at 13-over-par. Benjamin Bossi-Scaglia tied for sixth overall, opening with an 82 before bouncing back with a 76 in the final round. Jeronimo Bregel rounded out the Rams' scoring lineup, placing 15th after posting back-to-back rounds of 83.

Johnson & Wales captured the team title with a two-day total of 635, narrowly edging the Rams in the standings. JWU's Bowen Kicklighter claimed medalist honors after rounds of 77 and 74.

Bluefield will return to action April 6–7 at the Milligan Spring Shootout, set to be played at Johnson City Country Club in Johnson City, Tennessee.
