Bluefield Splits Remaining Games of Series at Toccoa Falls

TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. – The Bluefield Rams wrapped up their opening series of the 2026 season on Saturday, falling in a pair of games to Toccoa Falls College at Screaming Eagle Field.
 

Game One: Toccoa Falls 16 - Bluefield 5

BU dropped the second game of the series, 16–5, after jumping out to an early lead.

The Rams struck first with three runs in the second inning and added two more in the fourth to briefly take a 5–4 advantage. Jordan Ramsey powered the offense with a three-hit performance, finishing 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBIs, and a home run. Cody Crafton added an RBI, while Micahel Royston drove in a run and reached base twice.

Toccoa Falls answered with a big offensive stretch, scoring 10 runs over the middle innings to swing the momentum. Bluefield totaled eight hits in the contest, with Parker Cherry collecting two hits from the leadoff spot.

On the mound, Riley Ruiz took the loss after striking out five across three innings. Brent Avery, Tyler Rakes, and Jason Maldanado combined to provide relief out of the bullpen for BU.

Game Two: Toccoa Falls 11 - Bluefield 3

In the series finale, Bluefield fell 11–3 as Toccoa Falls pulled away with a six-run fourth inning.

The Rams plated all three of their runs in the fourth, highlighted by RBI hits from Ramsey, Evan Leese, and Royston. Ramsey and Leese each recorded doubles, accounting for BU's extra-base hits in the game.

Dylan Dotson reached base three times via walk and scored a run, while Chris Johnson and Crafton each added hits as BU finished with six total hits.

Nick Duncan was tagged with the loss after five innings of work, striking out four. Noah Burtner tossed a scoreless inning in relief to close out the afternoon.

The Rams will host Ohio Christian in a three-game series at Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tenn. Thursday and Friday.
