BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The Bluefield University women's soccer team fell to Columbia International, 6-0, in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup at the East River Soccer Complex Saturday afternoon.
CIU (6-1-1, 4-0-1 AAC) struck early and often, building a five-goal lead by halftime before adding another in the second half.
Sophomore goalkeeper Autumn Matthews stayed active in net, finishing with seven saves against a persistent Rams attack.
Bluefield (1-5, 0-4 AAC) was unable to generate a shot in the contest, as Columbia International controlled possession throughout.
The Rams return to action September 24Â on the road against Milligan in an AAC matchup set for 3:00 p.m.
