Rams Battle Hard but Fall Short Against Tusculum in Gritty Showdown

Greeneville, TN – The Bluefield University Rams hit the road for a tough non-conference battle against NCAA Division II Tusculum University. In a hard-fought contest filled with momentum swings, the Rams put up a strong fight but ultimately fell short, dropping the match 3-1.

Despite the loss, several Bluefield players turned in standout performances. Mason Lloyd led the offensive charge with 15 kills, while Dakari Williams wasn't far behind with 17. Defensively, Richard Cisneros and Kyle Pietrzak held their ground at the net with two blocks each. Lloyd also made an impact at the service line, delivering four aces.

The match was a nail-biter, featuring multiple lead changes and high-intensity rallies. Bluefield claimed the third set 25-22, showcasing their resilience and ability to battle back, but despite their best efforts, Tusculum managed to close out the match.

Benedict Somes played a crucial role in orchestrating the offense, dishing out 33 assists and adding an ace. On defense, Somes and Colby Mutter led the back row with eight digs each, working hard to counter Tusculum's aggressive attack.

Though the Rams didn't get the result they wanted, they showed grit and determination throughout the match. They'll take the lessons from this tough battle and look to bounce back stronger in their upcoming games as they travel to Waleska, Georgia this weekend.
