Rams Clash with Eagles in a Tense AAC Match-Up

Bluefield, VA.- The Rams faced off against the Reinhardt Eagles at their home court for another tough AAC match-up. Despite a victorious start and a fierce battle throughout, the Rams succumbed to Reinhardt with a final score of 3-1 in favor of the visitors.

The Rams showed their prowess early on by securing the first set with a close score of 26-24. However, Reinhardt responded, winning the subsequent sets 25-22, 25-20, and 25-23. This series of tightly contested sets highlighted the intense competition between the two teams.

The Rams showcased commendable performances from several players. Dakari Williams led with 17 kills, followed by Mason Lloyd with 14 kills and General Smith contributing 7. The defensive efforts were bolstered by Kyle Pietrzak and Richard Cisneros, each with 6 blocks, and General Smith added another 4. Digs were also a strong point for the Rams, with Colby Mutter leading with 10, aided by Mason Lloyd with 9 and Dakari Williams with 6. Serving saw Benedict Somes notch 2 aces, with other members contributing 5 aces, demonstrating a well-rounded team effort.

Despite the loss, Bluefield University's volleyball coach emphasized the strength and determination shown by the team. They highlighted key moments such as Bluefield's first-set win and the competitive nature of the following sets. Head coach Kevin John reflected on the team's progress, stating, "In the second year of our reboot we just went toe to toe with the defending champ. This is what we are working for." With a current record of 5-4, and 2-1 in the conference, the Rams are looking to regroup and focus on their upcoming games.
