Pikeville, KY.- In an exciting Appalachian Athletic Conference clash, the Bluefield University Rams delivered a spirited performance but fell just short against Pikeville, 92-81. Despite the final outcome, the Rams had much to celebrate, including a standout showing from
Quantavis McKinney, who led all scorers with 26 points, highlighted by five impressive three-pointers.
The Rams came out strong, staying competitive in a fast-paced first half and trailing 53-39 at the break. McKinney's shooting electrified the Bluefield offense, while Elijah White contributed 20 points and Donavon Martin added 18 points and 7 rebounds, showcasing the depth of Bluefield's talent. The team's defensive hustle also stood out, with several players recording key steals to disrupt Pikeville's rhythm.
