Pikeville, KY- The Rams faced off against the University of Pikeville in a closely contested conference match-up that ended in a 1-1 tie. Both teams showcased their defensive strengths in a scoreless first half, with neither side able to capitalize on their opportunities.
As the second half unfolded, Pikeville broke the stalemate by scoring the first goal of the match, taking a 1-0 lead. However, the Rams refused to back down. With just five minutes remaining on the clock, Edwin Cruz made a pivotal pass to Yannik Weiss, who deftly maneuvered past defenders and found the back of the net to level the score at 1-1.
Coach Gabriel Blakman reflected on the match, saying, "Despite the many challenges that we had last week due to weather concerns, I am very proud of the work ethic the guys put in. We rescued a point against a tough opponent. It was a combination of grit and hard work. Now we learn and regroup to achieve our goal this season!"
The Rams will look to build on this momentum when they host Kentucky Christian University at home on Wednesday at 6 PM. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they continue their conference campaign!
