Beckley, WV – In a week marked by adversity, the Rams showed remarkable resilience, relocating their match against KCU to Paul Cline Stadium in Beckley, WV, and securing a decisive 4-1 victory.
From the opening whistle, the Rams established their dominance on the field, controlling possession and launching an offensive barrage. The first half was a display of attacking prowess, with Enrique Santamaria-Benito, Louis Märker, and Yannik Weiss each finding the net, all assisted by Cameron Richter. The Rams were relentless, building a 3-0 lead before the Knights managed to score from the penalty spot in the waning moments of the half, bringing the score to 3-1 at the break.
In the second half, KCU made tactical adjustments, aiming to tighten the match. Both teams exchanged shots on goal, but the Rams remained steadfast in their defense. The Rams weren't done yet; Santamaria-Benito set up Aidan Erickson for a goal, marking Erickson's first collegiate score and extending the lead to 4-1.
