LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Bluefield University track teams had success at the Hornet Open, hosted by the University of Lynchburg as personal and school records were set for the men and women's teams.
On the men's side
Xavier Turner finished third in the 800 meters race with a personal and school record of 1:55.35. In the 100 meters with a time of 11.05, again personal and school records. Turner qualified for the conference meet in both events.
Montreal Streat had a PR in the 800 with a time of 2:27.06.
Dayson McMillian had PRs in the 100 with a time of 11.54 and 24.08 in the 200.
JaQuan Ebron qualified for conference in the high jump with a leap of 6'2" and finished fifth. He threw the discus 102'8.25" and had a time of 52.48 in the 400.
Jaylen Holmes qualified for conference with a discus throw of 120'9".
For the BU women
Victoria Reales-Pruano achieved a PR in the 800 with a time of 2:51.14. Janiyah Evans set a PR in the 400 and discus. Evans finished the 400 in 1:12.73 and threw the discus 48.2.25".
Sarah Ilesanmi recorded a 13'1.25" leap in the long jump.
