BLUEFIELD – Bluefield University men's volleyball pushed its winning streak to three with a three-set win over the Midway University Eagles, Saturday afternoon at the Dome Gymnasium. The Rams started their three-game winning streak on Jan. 27 with a victory at Midway.
INSIDE THE MATCH

• BU opened a three-point lead at 5-2 and moved ahead 10-5 in the opening set. After an MU timeout, BU extended its lead to 14-7. The Eagles clawed their way back to tie the set at 18. The Rams closed on a 7-5 run to take the first set 25-23.
• Midway scored the first point in the set and led by two at 7-5 only to see Bluefield go on a 10-3 run to take a 15-10 lead. Bluefield won the set 25-18 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
• For the third straight set Midway scored the first point. The Rams trailed by three before tying at seven. The Eagles led by four before BU tied the set at 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24. BU took its first lead of the set at 25-24 and won the set 26-24 to claim the match.

LEADERS

• Benedict Somes paced the offense with 34 assists.
• Kyle Pietrzak collected 13 kills.
• Mason Lloyd finished with 10 kills and three service aces.
• Noah Clements had eight digs.

• The Rams, now 3-1, open Appalachian Athletic Conference play Friday, Feb. 9 at Life University.
