BLUEFIELD – BU baseball split a pair of non-conference games with Ohio Christian University, Friday afternoon at Bowen Field. The Rams took the opening game 12-3 but fell to the Trailblazers 3-0 in the nightcap. Saturday's game was cancelled due to weather conditions.
In the opener the Rams jumped ahead 3-0 in the first inning and never looked back. The big hit was a two-run homer by
Moises Aristy. BU added three more in the second, two in the fourth, and four in the sixth.
Brady Joslyn was 2-for-2 with three runs batted in. Aristy was 3-for-4 and knocked in four runs.
Tyrone Woods got the pitching victory to even his season record at 2-2. Woods pitched four innings and struck out four.
Nick Duncan worked the final three innings and picked up three Ks.
In the nightcap OCU scored all three of its runs in the third innings. Bluefield was held to two hits, one by
Bryce Medlock, the other by
Matt Beisecker.
The Rams are now 5-5 and will play at Alice Lloyd College, Tuesday.
