Bluefield Rams Dominate Brenau in Three Straight Sets

Bluefield, VA.- The Bluefield Rams put on a commanding performance against the Brenau Golden Tigers last night, securing a decisive victory in three straight sets. The final scores were 25-13, 25-12, and 25-10, showcasing the Rams' dominance throughout the match.

Match Highlights

Brenau struggled to find their footing from the outset, finishing with a hitting percentage of -.039, while the Rams excelled with an impressive hitting percentage of .274. Bluefield maintained control from the start, leading in each set.

The Rams showcased their offensive power, with Joslyn Evans leading the charge with 11 kills, consistently finding gaps in Brenau's defense. Davina Lopez also made a significant impact, contributing 10 kills and displaying strong blocking skills at the net. Bluefield's aggressive serving kept Brenau on the defensive, forcing them into difficult situations and limiting their offensive opportunities.

Defensively, the Rams were equally impressive. Eledy Torres anchored the back row with 17 digs, allowing Bluefield to transition smoothly from defense to offense. The team's overall cohesion was evident as they communicated effectively and covered for each other, making it challenging for Brenau to mount any sustained rallies.

Throughout the match, the Rams capitalized on every opportunity, with timely blocks and well-placed shots that consistently put pressure on their opponents. Despite Brenau's occasional attempts to close the gap, Bluefield maintained its composure and never relinquished control of the match.

Coach Gallemore's Insights

Following the match, Coach Buddy Gallemore expressed his pride in the team's performance: "I feel really good about how we played. Our serving was strong, and we kept it tight early in all the sets, pulling away when it mattered most. Hitting .274 as a team with just 10 errors is impressive. We won't lose many matches with that kind of efficiency."

He also praised Davina Lopez for her contributions: "Davina is really starting to find her groove. Although she's still adjusting to playing on the right side, I love having her there against the outsides. She's delivering solid blocks and taking quality swings, which makes a big difference for us."
