Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Rams Sweep Bears in Dominant Home Performance

Bluefield, VA – The Bluefield Rams extended their impressive home record with a commanding victory over the Pikeville Bears, sweeping the match in three sets (25-17, 25-14, 24-14) in front of a packed gym filled with enthusiastic fans. The atmosphere was electric as both teams battled for conference supremacy, but it was the Rams who maintained control from start to finish.

Offensively, Bluefield showcased their prowess, recording a total of 44 kills and achieving a hitting percentage of .277. They also contributed significantly on defense, tallying 55 digs and 7 blocks—an improvement in a key area that had been lacking in previous matches.

Head Coach Buddy Gallemore expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance. "I believe this was one of our best all-around matches of the season," he said. "Nayerly did a great job distributing the ball, and our attackers capitalized effectively. Our blocking was particularly noteworthy tonight. We had 7 total blocks, but the impact was even greater; we were able to convert soft blocks into offensive opportunities, which pressured the Bears into making errors."

Gallemore also credited the student section for their support. "Tonight was all about our student section. They brought the energy, and we thrived on it! They were not going to let us lose!"

Game Leaders for the Rams:

With this victory, the Rams improve to 15-11 overall and 10-6 in conference play. They look ahead to their next challenge against Columbia International University on Friday, November 1st, at 6:30 PM. The Rams are eager to take on CIU on their home court after suffering a defeat earlier this season, confident in their ability to leverage their home-court advantage.
