RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Bluefield University Women's Volleyball broke into the win column in a big way, winning three matches at the University of Rio Grande Tournament, Friday and Saturday.
Friday the Rams defeated Ohio Christian University and Point Park University. BU defeated OCU 3-1 – 25-20, 26-24, 23-25, 31-29.
Joslyn Evans amassed 11 kills and eight digs.
Liangelys Santana picked up 22 digs with 21 kills, and
Georgia Lewis has 23 digs.
Nayerly Jimenez had a season-high 48 assists.
The Rams then defeated Point Park in five sets 29-27, 27-25, 19-25, 24-26, 17-15. Evans finished with 10 kills and nine digs. Santana finished with 12 kills, Lewis tallied 20 digs, while Lianette Burgos dished out 18 assists and Jimenez 17.
Saturday morning Bluefield won its third consecutive match beating West Virginia Tech in three sets 25-21, 25-22, 25-21. Jimenez had 34 assists and
Eledy Torres 20 digs. Santana finished with 14 digs and 11 kills, and Evans added 14 kills.
The Rams dropped their final match in the tournament to host Rio Grande in three sets, 20-25, 19-25, 21-25. Jimenez had 25 assists and 10 digs. Lewis also had 10 digs and Santana finished with 13 kills and seven digs.
