BLUEFIELD – Bluefield University wrestling celebrated Senior Day, Friday, Feb. 3 as the squad hosted St. Andrews University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match. Zachary Silver was honored in pre-match festivities for his dedication and service with the program.
SAU took the match 35-17. The Rams won the final three matches of the event to provide excitement in the Herb Sims Center. All three of the victories came by fall. Marek Banks in the 184-pound weight class dropped his opponent in 2:22. Elijah Padgett at 197 defeated his foe in 2:25, and Roberto Rivero pinned his opponent in 4:07.
The Rams wrestle next at the AAC Tournament on Feb. 18.
