KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Bluefield University Rams women's volleyball team advanced in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament, Thursday afternoon at the Meadowview Conference Center and Resort with a five set win over the Union College Bulldogs
Bluefield won the opening set 25-15 only to see Union take the second set 25-14. The Rams bounded back to take 2-1 lead with a 27-25 win in the third set. The Bulldogs claimed set four 25-18, forcing a math-deciding fifth set. BU took the match with a 15-8 win in the fifth set.
Two Rams recorded double-doubles.
Madison Rodabaugh collected 27 digs and 13 kills, and
Liangelys Santana finished with 17 kills and 13 digs.
Nayerly Jimenez passed out 56 assists and
Georgia Lewis had 25 digs.
Joslyn Evans checked in with 18 kills, six digs and a pair of blocks, and Chesed Russel added 11 kills.
The seventh seeded Rams are now 18-14 on the season and will battle second seeded Milligan, Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the tournament quarterfinals.
