BLUEFIELD – After dropping the first set of the match, the Bluefield University Rams women's volleyball team won the next three sets to take an Appalachian Athletic Conference win over the University of Pikeville Bears, Tuesday evening at the Dome Gymnasium. With the win the Rams improved to 6-4 in the AAC and 11-9 overall.
INSIDE THE MATCH

• UPike struck first and built an early five-point lead. BU tied at 11 and took their first lead 13-12 on a block by Joslyn Evans. The Bears took a lead, but the Rams regained the advantage 18-17. The visitors drew even at 21 and took the opening set 25-23,
• Set two saw Bluefield draw even at eight and pull away from Pikeville. Nayerly Jimenez's kill gave BU its biggest lead at 23-17 and the Rams went on to a 25-19 win to even the match at a set apiece.
• The Rams controlled the third set from the outset and built an early eight-point lead. BU closed the set on a 9-2 run for a 25-10 win and a 2-1 advantage.
• In the final set Bluefield took an early three-point lead and did not relinquish  the advantage, claiming a 25-18 win to take the match.

LEADERS

• Liangelys Santana recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 13 digs.
• Jimenez recorded a double-double with 32 assists and 14 digs.
• Georgia Lewis finished with 10 digs.
