Rams press on to victory over Columbia College

BLUEFIELD – A 35-point third quarter propelled the Bluefield University Rams women's basketball team to a come-from-behind 95-78 Appalachian Athletic Conference win over the Columbia College Koalas, Wednesday evening at the Dome Gymnasium. It was also a night in which the Rams participated in Coaches vs. Cancer and the BU coaches dressed in suits and sneakers for the national week-long observance.
INSIDE THE GAME
  • Columbia College held the early edge, running out to a 21-15 lead at the end of the first quarter and an 11-point advantage, 47-36 at halftime.
  • The Rams came out pressing in the third quarter and scored 17 unanswered points to take the lead, which they would not relinquish.
  • BU's press forced 18 Columbia College turnovers.
LEADERS
  • Kylie Meadows recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 24 points and 10 rebounds. She also had a pair of assists and a pair of steals.
  • Emily Breeding finished with 20 points, four steals, and four assists.
  • Destiny Long scored a season-high 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and had three steals.
