Box Score GRAYSON, Ky. – In its final non-conference game of the season, the Bluefield University Rams held on to defeat fellow Appalachian Athletic Conference member Kentucky Christian University 31-19, Saturday evening in the Bluegrass State.
INSIDE THE GAME

• JaQuan Ebron and Nathan Herstich connected on a seven-yard TD for the game's first score with 4:01 to play in the first quarter. Joey Dales booted the extra point.
• The Rams moved ahead 14-0 when Herstich and Jewels Gray teamed up for a 21-yard scoring play with 11:55 to go in the second quarter. Dales' PAT was good.
• KCU scored with 44 seconds to play in the half. On the ensuing kickoff KCU was offsides and the Rams elected to take a re-kick. Thomas Lee returned the kick 84 yards for the touchdown. Dales kicked the extra point, and it was 21-6 at halftime.
• KCU drove down the field after receiving the second half kickoff, but Tri'Mayal Cash ended the drive with an interception in the end zone.
• The Knights scored the only points in the third quarter. Early in the fourth Dales split the uprights with a 37-yard field goal to make it 24-12.
• KCU scored with two minutes left to close to within one score at 24-19.
• Herstich and Gray connected for the game's final score, a 67-yard play with 1:36 on the clock.

LEADERS

• Tyrese Wolfe had three interceptions for the Rams.
• Sam Kirtley and Tavarius Corbitt each had eight tackles.
• Herstich completed 23-of-41 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns.
• Jewels Gray caught nine passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns.
• Thomas Lee had four receptions for 100 yards.

NEXT IN LINE

• The Rams return home to Mitchell Stadium, Saturday, Oct. 1 against the University of Pikeville. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
• It was the first of two meetings between BU and KCU this season. The Rams and Knights will meet in a conference contest to wrap up the season, Nov. 13 at Mitchell Stadium.
