WEST POINT, Ga. – Bluefield University women's basketball opened Appalachian Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon and suffered a 72-60 loss at Point University. BU's Kylie Meadows scored her 1,000^th career collegiate point.
INSIDE THE GAME

• The Rams came out strong, shooting 64% in the opening quarter and led 22-21 after the first 10 minutes.
• BU struggled in the second period, shooting only 21% and scoring seven points.
• The Rams battled the Skyhawks evenly in the second half, but the deficit incurred in the second quarter proved too much to overcome.
• Meadows scored her 1,000^th career collegiate point having played at Oregon Tech and now in her third year at BU. She now needs 212 points to have 1,000 at Bluefield.

LEADERS

• Meadows led Bluefield with 14 points and eight rebounds.
• Kiaa Boyd added 11 points.
