BLUEFIELD – The Bluefield University Rams fought hard but fell to the NAIA #19 Union Bulldogs 88-81, Thursday night in Appalachian Athletic Conference play at the Dome Gymnasium.
INSIDE THE GAME

• Union controlled the boards in the first half and opened a 16-point lead with seven minutes to play in the opening half.
• Both teams shot 50% in the first half and the Bulldogs took a 49-41 lead into halftime.
• The Rams closed the double-digit lead down to six in the second half.
• BU's bench out-scored Union's bench 35-30.
• Union out-rebounded Bluefield 46-27, 20-9 on the offensive boards.

LEADERS

• Sage McLellan came off the bench to lead the Rams with 18 points and five rebounds.
• Jamal Hinkle and McKinley Mann each scored 12 points, Hinkle had four rebounds, Mann three.
• Elijah White had five assists to go with his nine points.
• Volante Carroll had a pair of blocks and four rebounds.
