WALESKA, Ga. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2022 Football All-AAC Team and Awards on Wednesday.
Devyn Collins of Reinhardt and JaQuan Ebron of Bluefield are Co-Offensive Players of the Year, Aaron Anderson of Point is the Defensive Player of the Year, and Joey Dales of Bluefield is the Special Teams Player of the Year. Tyress McKey of Reinhardt is the Offensive Freshman of the Year, while Gavin Graham of Point is the Defensive Freshman of the Year. James Miller of Reinhardt and Dewey Lusk of Bluefield are the Co-Coaches of the Year, and Greg Blue of Reinhardt and Mike Ketchum of Bluefield are the Co-Assistant Coaches of the Year.
The awards were voted on and selected by the football coaches of the AAC.
Collins rushed for 961 yards and 17 touchdowns in nine games this season. He averaged 106.8 yards per game and 5.6 yards per carry.
Ebron hauled in 60 passes for 1,022 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in 11 games this year. He averaged 92.9 yards per game and 17.0 yards per reception.
Anderson recording 90 total tackles in 11 games this year. He also amassed 3.0 sacks and 12.0 tackles for a loss to go along with one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
Dales scored 87 points in 11 games. He booted 12 field goals and was 21-of-23 on PATs. In addition, he averaged 38.2 yards per punt.
McKey appeared in seven games this season and ran for 401 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 57.3 yards per game and 9.5 yards per carry.
Graham registered 41 tackles in 11 games this season. He had 3.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for a loss as well.
Miller guided Reinhardt to a 5-0 conference record en route to capturing the AAC championship and advancing to the NAIA Football Championship Series.
Lusk coached Bluefield to an 8-3 overall record, setting the program record for wins in a season.
Blue serves as Reinhardt's defensive coordinator, and the Eagles allowed 15.9 points per game and held opponents to 288.3 yards per game in total offense.
Ketchum is the offensive coordinator for Bluefield, which led the AAC with 441.0 yards per game in total offense. The Rams also tallied 379 total points for an average of 34.5 per game.
A total of 30 players earned All-AAC First Team honors with 15 on offense and 15 on defense with an additional 30 players making the second team. Several players earned All-Academic Team accolades, while six made the Champions of Character Team.
