Box Score BLUEFIELD – The Bluefield University Rams opened Appalachian Athletic Conference football play Saturday afternoon with a 20-14 win over the Point University Skyhawks at Mitchell Stadium. The Rams overcame a 14-6 deficit and held off a late Point charge to gain their fifth win of the season.
INSIDE THE GAME

• BU took a 6-0 lead on a pair of field goals by Joey Dales.
• Point scored a pair of second quarter touchdowns to lead 14-6 at the half.
• The Rams pulled to within a point on a 44-yard pass from Nathan Herstich to Matthew Trevillian, and Dales added the extra point with 8:28 to play in the third quarter.
• BU's final score came on a 55-yard pass play from Herstich to Thomas Lee with nine seconds left in the third quarter.
• Both teams threatened in the fourth quarter, but no points were scored.

LEADERS

• Herstich completed 23-of-38 passes for 345 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
• JaQuan Ebron caught seven passes for 113 yards.
• Lee and Trevillian each caught a TD pass.
• Sam Kirtley led the BU defense with seven tackles and a fumble recovery.
• Tyrese Wolfe and Quincy Robinson each had six tackles and Robinson had a sack.
