BLUEFIELD – Bluefield University women's volleyball won its seventh straight match with a 3-0 win over the Montreat College Cavaliers, 25-18, 25-12, 25-17, Tuesday night at the Dome Gymnasium. The Rams are now 15-3 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and await a match with nationally-ranked Columbia International University, Friday at the Dome.
INSIDE THE MATCH
- Montreat held the early lead in the opening set before the Rams tied and then built a five-point lead on the way to the 25-18 win.
- The teams fought early before the Rams pulled away midway through the set, 14-8. The Rams closed the set on an 11-4 run to take a 25-12 win.
- BU controlled the third set and led by as many as nine points before gaining the 25-17 win.
LEADERS
- The Rams take on CIU, Friday. The CIU Rams are 16-1 in the AAC and 27-7 overall. The BU Rams are 15-3 in the AAC and 18-8 overall. CIU is tied with Bryan for first place in the league, while BU is in third place. Match time Friday is at 6:30.
