Rams down Columbia at the Dome

BLUEFIELD - Bluefield University women's basketball returned to game action for the first time in 37 days and defeated the Columbia College Koalas 77-59 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play Wednesday night at the Dome Gymnasium.The win pushed the Rams winning streak to four games. The team had been idle since Dec. 11 due to Covid protocols.

INSIDE THE GAME
  • Bluefield led 21-15 at the end of the first quarter.
  • Columbia out-scored the Rams 23-13 in the second to lead 38-34 at halftime.
  • BU took command in the second half,out-scoring CC by 13 in the third and nine in the fourth for the win.
  • Bluefield shot 48% from the field in the game, including 44% from behind the three-point line.
  • Columbia connected on 41% of its shots from the field.
LEADERS UP NEXT
  • Bluefield (6-7, 6-5 AAC) returns to the court Thursday, Jan. 20 against Union College at the Dome Gymnasium.
