Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Rams shut out Royals 6-0

BLUEFIELD - Bluefield University's men's soccer continued its climb with a 6-0 Appalachian Athletic Conference win over Johnson University, Saturday night at the East River Soccer Complex.
The Rams wasted little time finding the back of the net as Devin Calloway scored in the second minute. The Rams added an own goal in the 10th minute and Axel Johansson scored in the 32nd minute to give BU a 3-0 halftime lead.
BU expanded its lead in the second half with goals by Drake Cullen, Adam Gymnander, and Andre Souza.
Jake Mendoza had four saves for the Rams.
"It was a good win, it wasn't comfortable. I think Johnson University, a first-year competitor, brought a lot to the table. They are really hard working, have a lot of class athletes on their team," said Rams head coach Justin Morton. " They were difficult to break down. I think if we played them at their place it would be a different game for us. We want to double down on the fact that when teams come to us, here at East River, it's very difficult for them to adjust to the way we play and we plan to really lean into that this year."
With the win Bluefield improved to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the AAC.
