Drake was a three-time all-conference, two-time all-region and MVP at Central Davidson High School in Lexington, N.C. He was a member of the National Honor Society, the Chess Club, and Pep Club. He was an usher at his church and volunteered at Feed the Homeless, and at the school concession stand.
