Baseball wraps up regular season at CIU

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Baseball wrapped up regular season play Friday afternoon at Columbia International, falling to the CIU Rams 14-10 in AAC play.
The Bluefield College Rams built a 7-3 lead going into the bottom of the fourth. CIU knotted the game in the bottom of the fourth and later took the lead scoring three times in the fifth and sixth innings. CIU added its final run in the eighth. Bluefield fought back with two in the seventh and one in the eight but it was not enough for the win.
Jeremie Garcia, Eligha Lewis and Elianel Mejia each had two hits for BC. Garcia and Mejia drove in two runs apiece and Lewis knocked in four. One of Lewis' hits was a home run. Max Aristy also homered for Bluefield.
The Rams finished the season 24-22 overall and 13-16 in league play. They now await the weekend's results around the AAC and look to begin conference tournament play next week in Kingsport, Tenn.
