Truett nips Rams in AAC Tournament

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The 2021 baseball season for the Bluefield College Rams came to a conclusion Wednesday afternoon as the Ram fell 7-6 to the Truett McConnell Bears in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Rams took the lead in the first only to see TMU knot the game in the bottom of the inning. BC took the lead with a pair of runs in the third, and held the advantage until the sixth when Truett McConnell plated six runs. Bluefield fought back with three runs in the eighth, but were a run short, allowing TMU to advance in tournament play.
Ozzie Millet, Eligha Lewis, and Elianel Mejia were each 2-for-4. Mejia had a home run and three RBIs, while Millet knocked in one run. David Meech also homered for the Rams.
Tyler Lowrey, the second of three Bluefield pitche loss. Lowrey pitched two-and-two-third innings. Starter Andrew Arguello worked five-and-two-third innings, while Justin Coleman pitched the fine ohers took tne-third inning.
The Rams finished the season with a 24-13 record, 13-16 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Millet and Meech were named to the All-Conference First Team.
