Bears take nightcap from Rams

BLUEFIELD – Truett McConnell took Friday's baseball nightcap from Bluefield College 6-4, Friday evening at Bowen Field.
As in game one Truett scored in the top of the first, and as in game one the Rams responded in the bottom of the inning. Nate Cobb's ground ball to short turned into a three base error when the throw sailed down the right field line. Cobb came home and tied the game at one on an Ozzie Millet sacrifice fly.
Again, as in game one, Truett McConnell scored five times in the second to go ahead 6-1. The Rams scored single runs in the third, fifth, and sixth to make the final score 6-4.
Starting pitcher Ryan Voss suffered the loss in five innings of work. Voss struck out three. Millet had two RBIs for the Rams.
The teams conclude their three-game series Saturday afternoon at Bowen Field on Senior Day for the BC baseball team. Senior Day festivities are set for 11:45 with the first pitch at noon.
