Buffaloes slide past Rams in twinbill opener

BLUEFIELD – Baseball dropped the first game of Saturday's Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader with Milligan University 10-8.
Milligan tacked two on the board in the first inning. The Rams responded with four in their half of the inning, the big hit a three-run home run by Eligah Lewis. BC added two in the third and a single run in the sixth to take a 7-2 lead. Milligan came alive in the top of the seventh, scoring five times to tie the game at seven. The Buffaloes added three in the ninth to forge ahead 10-7. The Rams rallied in the bottom of the ninth and scored one, but could not muster any more runs.
Nate Cobb had three hits for BC, while Jeremie Garcia and Ozzie Millet each had a pair of safeties. Taylor Meaux and Lewis had three RBIs.
Andrew Arguello started on the mound for Bluefield and worked five strong innings. Spencer Ambrose, the fifth of five BC pitchers, suffered the loss.
