Women's Volleyball falls at AAC Tournament

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The unconventional season for women's volleyball came to an end Wednesday evening as the Rams fell to Truett McConnell University in three sets, 15-25, 22-25, 13-25 in the quarterfinals of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Bears dominated in the first set. However, in the second set the Rams were in the lead late, until a questionable call swung the momentum and Truett scored the final three points of the set. The Bears ran to victory in the third and final set to advance to Thursday's semifinals.
Jessica Wells, the current AAC Attacker of the Week, had 11 kills. Claire Fingerlin picked up 14 digs, and Aubri Whatcott finished with 22 assists.
The Rams' unconventional season began in the fall and the team lost several games due to COVID protocols. Play resumed in March leading up to the conference tournament. Playing only conference opponents this season the Rams finished with an 11-8 record.
