Rams drop opener at Montreat

MONTREAT, N.C. - Montreat College came from behind to defeat softball 10-7 in the opening game of an AAC doubleheader, Thursday afternoon.
Bluefield College jumped to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning and added three more in the third to lead 6-1. Montreat rallied and scored six runs in the bottom of the third and three more in the fourth to take the lead and claim the win.
Lei Harmon had a pair of RBIs for the Rams, while Chloe Hicks and Kristina Sanchez each doubled. Laken Sparks suffered the loss in the circle.
"Sparks was big time! She gave us a chance every inning. We didn't play well behind her," said Bluefield College head coach Sam White. "Seven runs should be enough to win."
